Nurses in Elected Office The power of our profession is significantly enhanced when nurses seek, and hold elected public office. This includes top-level positions in the Executive Branch and Delaware General Assembly and, also, local positions such as a County Commissioner, school board member, city council, Mayor, and more. There are currently three nurses elected to positions in the Executive Branch and General Assembly: DNA is proud to support nurses in elected positions, up and down the ballot. This is supported, in large part, by our partnership with Healing Politics. Healing Politics is an educational, non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)3 organization on a mission to inspire, motivate, recruit, and train nurses and midwives to run for elected office while building a culture of civic engagement within the professions.
