Completion of Required CNE Evaluation Policy

As part of the educational activity, the required evaluation must be completed to receive contact hours. The evaluation method may take the following forms as determined by the Planning Committee:

  • Evaluation form with questions related to but not limited to
  • the objectives and anticipated change in practice
  • Active participation in the learning activity
  • Post-test
  • Return demonstration
  • Case study analysis
  • Role play
  • Longitudinal study with self-reported change in practice
  • Data collection related to quality outcome measures
  • Observation of performance

Participants are required to:

  • Notify the DNA office of non-receipt of evaluation prior to the due date
  • Complete the required evaluation by the announced due date
  • No refunds will be given for non-completion of the required evaluation by the due date.
  • If a participant has an unforeseen circumstance arise prior to the due date of the evaluation, the participant must notify the DNA office. No evaluations will be accepted 30-days past the due date.

Registration Policy

DNA adheres to all regional, state and national laws and regulations.

  • DNA uses the email provided when registering for educational or special activities. It is the participant’s responsibility to provide an accurate email address to receive educational or special activity specific emails. Please see the Completion of Required Evaluation policy.
  • DNA reserves the right to charge a fee for participant or vendor registration cancellation within a designated time prior to the conference/special activity date.
  • Conference registrations are transferable. The transferred registration must be to a registrant that is of equal or less in fees. If the paid registration fee is more than the transferred registration fee, no refund will be given. For example, DNA to DNA member or if a non-member transferred their registration to a DNA member, no refund for the difference in fee will be given.
  • Registrations are not transferrable for special educational activities, such as bus trips, where space is limited unless otherwise noted.

Exhibitor Policy

Exhibitors who are registered nurses that would like to attend the educational activity for credit may do so without additional fees after notifying the Executive Director and signing in on the participant sign in sheet. The procedure for successful completion of the educational activity must be followed by these participants.

Exhibitors are responsible for type of prizes and their delivery. DNA is not responsible for announcing winners or delivering the prize to the winner.

All activities and prizes/promotional items given to attendees must be in compliance with all regulations and guidelines governing gifts to nurses, including those of the American Nurses Association and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Promotional activities must be identified as such and must be kept separate from continuing nurse education activities.

Product promotion material or product-specific advertisement of any type is prohibited in or during the educational activities, except in the designated areas.

No product advertisement of any type shall be permitted in the same room as the educational activity or in the walkway to the educational activity room.

Commercial support staff is prohibited from engaging in sales or promotional activity in the activity room before, during, or after the activity.

DNA reserves the right to prohibit any display or exhibit or any part of a proposed exhibit which it judges as not suitable or in accordance with ethical standards and those of governing bodies.

Should any emergency arise, of any nature, prior to the opening conference date that would prevent its schedule opening (destruction or damage to the facility by fire, flood, storms, acts of God, etc., or declaration of any emergency by the state of Delaware or the United States Government), it is expressly agreed that DNA may retain portion of the exhibit payment to cover expenses incurred by DNA up to the time of the emergency.

Delaware Nurses Association shall not be liable to the exhibitor for any damage to or loss or destruction of any exhibit or property of an exhibitor or injuries to his/her person resulting from any cause. All claims of any such loss, damage, or injury are expressly waived by the exhibitor.
